Gymnastic Girls

Kendall's friend came over after school today.  Karah does gymnastics, and started a little gymnastics class for my girls.  They had the best time doing tricks together!

Car Shopping

My van died.

Such a sad thing.  I hate buying cars.  I hate looking for cars.  I don't care much about cars.  I just want something reliable that will get me from point A to point B, somthing that will hold lots of kids (mine and a friend for each) and have decent storage.  I don't care about color, any fancy bells and whistles - nothing!  So as you can imagine, shopping for a car is the last thing on my list of things I care to do with my time.  Taking 3 kids along is my idea of a nightmare.  When we finally found a few hours (during the Seahawks game, mind you) to go car shopping the kids made my nightmare come true!  We eventually found the kid's room for them to watch Scooby Doo, which saved our lives - or their lives I should say.

Before I banished them to the kids' room, I caught Natalie making the silliest faces in the mirror - ha! Just as I snapped the picture she gave me this cute smile.  It's a good things she's cute!

LJF vs Skyline

After lunch we made our way up to Sammamish to watch some football!

The boys had a great game!  Ryan was excited to have Grandma and Grandpa there to cheer him on!

Fun with Family

After our volunteer gig, Ryan and ventured home to greet Grandpa Bill, Grandma Karen, Aunt Jackie, Uncle George, Aunt Dyanne and Melanie.  It was so much fun to see everyone!  It had been way too long since we'd seen Jackie, George and Dyanne.  We loved catching up over lunch and birthday cake (another fun celebration for Kendall).  What a great day!

Volunteers Extraordinaire

These awesome boys spent their Saturday morning helping collect food for the Issaquah Food Bank.

The volunteer opportunity came through us through the Sammamish Rotary Club, and after a bit of convincing I got these guys to help.  Once we were there, they loved every minute - as did their mamas!

We were so amazed by the generosity of the community we live in!

Liberty Junior Football Night

The Junior Liberty Football squad was honored at the high school game tonight.  Ryan and David enjoyed watching the game and hanging out with their buds.

At the end of the game the boys met their Liberty High School Buddy.  The Junior Football program put together this cool buddy program, and match the littles up with the big boys.  Such a cool way to create community and make new friends!

Ryan was super excited to meet his guy!

My Baker

Kendall got the cutest cookbook for her birthday, and insisted we make birthday treats!  She did amazing.  I helped measure things out, but she basically did the rest by herself.

Scooby Doo Shenanigans

Kendall wanted a Scooby Doo party this year.  We found some fun Scooby Doo decorations and David came up with some awesome Scooby Doo games like wrap the mummy, ghost shuffle and Scooby Scooby Doo (much like Duck Duck Goose).  Kendall's friends rode the bus home with her after school, and they all had the best time playing games, eating snacks and bouncing in the bouncy house and trampoline.  Instead of cake, Kendall decided she wanted to serve rootbeer floats!   It was a great day celebrating our sweet 7 year old!

Kendall's Gift

For her birthday, Kendall decided she wanted to get her ears pierced.  She was feeling a little nervous about it, but didn't even flinch when the first hole went in.  She's a champ.

She picked out the cutest white heart earings, but did debate about getting the dolphins.

She's so proud of her new ears, and loved that Grandma Sue could be there with her.

On a side note, Natalie hid under the pillows on the couch in the waiting area while the whole thing was going on.  Ha!  She didn't like that her sister was going to get hurt.

Kendall's 7th Birthday

This little lady woke up to fresh cinnamon rolls on her birthday, thanks to Grandma Sue!

I was so thankful Grandma Sue and Grandpa Ken were able to greet Kendall in the morning since I had to be at work.  She was so excited about her big day!

Ryan gave her the gift he picked out for her this summer at Yellowstone - a little stuffed wolf. When we were at Yellowstone Kendall couldn't decide between the wolf and a necklace for her souvenir, and when she decided on the necklace Ryan asked if he could get her the wolf for her birthday.  Sweet.  He also included the cutest note that I will treasure forever.

She had the best day at school, and came home with the cutest book of notes from her class.  Each child wrote a note and drew a picture for Kendall, and her wonderful teacher combined them all into a book.  Another treasure.

For her gift, she wanted her ears pierced so we ran into town to get that done then came home for hamburgers (Kendall's choice) for dinner.  We finished the day off with s'mores by the fire pit.

It was a great day for this newly turned 7 year old!

Last Minute Visit

My mom and dad decided to come visit last minute.  A huge thanks to Kendall who insisted Grandma Sue here on her birthday.  She laid the guilt on thick - ha!

It worked out perfect with their schedule to visit for 5 days which meant they got to watch Ryan play football, join us at church and be here for Kendall's big day. It was perfect!

We loved having them!  The girls even got Grandpa Ken to do perler beads with them.
Liberty Junior Football fun!

I spy Natalie!

Working on their creations.

Happy Hour for Good 2016

My old Rotary Club hosted Happy Hour for Good tonight benefiting Rotary First Harvest.  It was the loveliest evening on the docks of Lake Union.  I so enjoyed reconnecting with my Rotary friends, and raising over $2000 for Rotary First Harvest!
