Playoffs!
It was a nerve wracking game this morning, to say the least.
Ryan was the 1st inning pitcher, and struggled on the mound. He ended up in tears, which is so painful to watch. He was able to pull out of it and move on, thank goodness. It's hard to be 8!
The boys were down most of the game, but battled back in the 4th inning to take the lead. They let the Rangers tie it up in the top of the 5th inning and had a chance to win it in the bottom of the 5th. But an odd play (that was actually reviewed by the coaches and the ump using a parent's video footage) ended the inning.
Onto extra inning we went! With some awesome pitching by our ace, Eli, the boys got out of the top of the 6th inning unscathed.
Our first batter, Robert, got on base with a walk, then Eli hit a pop up, which was caugh. Robert, who was now at 3rd, forgot to tag up and ended up out after a quick thinking play by the Ranger's pitcher. We were down to our last out. Cole ended up on base after a great hit. He pushed it to third, and decided he would try to make it home. He changed his mind halfway to home and battled back and forth with the Rangers before returning to 3rd base safely. I think all the parents on our sidelines almost had a heart attack! Such a crazy play. Then Ryan was up to bat. He was at a 1-2 count and hit a fly ball between third and short stop. The Rangers had a play on the ball, but weren't able to make the catch so Cole ran home to score the winning run! Whew! What an exciting game it was!
We're down to our last couple games. We play Tuesday, then Friday or Saturday depending how we do on Tuesday.

Go Team Purple!
Ryan's IBC 8U Purple team won their division at the Yakima tournament. They went undefeated in their 4 games and were slated to play in the championship game on Monday at 4pm. After waiting 4 hours in between games, we were all excited for the championship game to start. However, at 4:01pm it started pouring! And it kept pouring until 5:30 when they finally declared us the champions (since we'd already beaten the team we were going to play). It was so anti-climatic, and the boys were so bummed they didn't get to play. They were excited to receive their trophy and t-shirts, though!
The girls entertained themselves with sno-cones in between games.
And when the clouds and rain moved in, Kendall found the perfect spot to watch the rain come down - snuggled up in her sleeping bag!

Aubrey Time
Michael, Jenn and Aubrey stopped in Yakima on their way west to see Karen and Bill. They planned to take in Ryan's game on Sunday, but ended up staying until Monday. The kids were SO EXCITED to see their cousin Aubrey and were over the moon when they got extra time with her.
As you can see, they had no fun with her at all!
Thanks for stopping in, guys!

Yakima Legends Tournament
We ventured to Yakima for the weekend for our first ever baseball tournament. I'm sure it will be the first of many at the rate we're going.
Everyone was so excited to hit the road (6:30 am Saturday morning), and get to Yakima!
Here are some pictures from fun the weekend!

We all had a great time! I was so proud of the girls for finding so many way to entertain themselves during those long days of baseball games.

The Wedding Video
I'm not sure how Kendall got it in her head that she wanted to watch our wedding video, but she's been begging for days. We finally had time to sit down and watch it.
David and I hadn't seen it for years - since the year we were married!
It was so much fun for us to watch the kids watch it. Natalie was a little confused by it all, and Kendall had tons of questions. It made me really happy that we decided to have someone video tape it (don't remember making that decision, but so happy my younger self was smart enough to do that).

Mariners vs. Pirates
The Mariners were on fire tonight! It was so much fun to see ALL the kids do so well and play as a team. The beat the Orioles, 21-7.
Go Mariners!
