Saying Goodbye

Ryan's good friend and neighbor, Nick, is moving back to Texas in a few days.  So sad!  We're going to miss him and his family so much.  Ryan and his buddies all got together one last time to say goodbye. He's sure lucky to have such a good group of friends.

Crystal Lakes Trail

We ventured up to Mt Rainier for a hike today.  We intended to do a different hike, but the mountain was totally fogged in and much colder than we anticipated.  We came across the Crystal Lakes trail and decided to give it a try.  It was so pretty, and we were thrilled that Kendall (our usually terrible hiker) was a pleasant hiker today.

Catching Air

Ryan went mountain biking with his buddy Nick today.  Nick's mama sent me this super cool picture of Ryan catching some air!  Love it!

These girls are so happy and content when they are by the water.

August Flowers

I am obsessed with making bouquets with my garden flowers.  I planted wildflowers on a whim this year, and what a fun surprise they create in the garden each day!

Art by Kendall

Kendall set the little picnic table up in the cul de sac so all the neighbor girls can gather and draw together.  Kendall's latest creation was quite impressive.

Twin Falls Hike

We hiked the Twin Falls Trail today.  It did not disappoint.

Cousin Stopover

The McNamee cousins stopped in Seattle to see us on their way home from Alaska today.  They stayed at a hotel since they had a quick layover, and their dog (our cats would not have been happy!). The kids had so much fun playing in the pool together, playing games outside and watching the Little League World Series.  We're so lucky we get to see them so often!

Camp Gallagher

Ryan and his friend Eli attended Camp Gallagher together last week.  It was a week long camp where they did all sorts of "things" according to Ryan.  He came back loving hamburgers which was a big plus!  He had never tried a hamburger in his life, so this was a big development.  Ha!

They had fun swimming, canoeing, art, hiking, whittling, etc. - a very fun camp experience in a beautiful setting.

It was kind of nervous about the whole thing, because there was no communication for the entire week but we all survived, and most importantly Ryan had a blast.
