The city of Issaquah has been promoting Salmon Days for months now. We knew there was a parade and a festival, but that's about all we knew. As it turns out, it's a huge deal. The main road through quaint little downtown Issaquah is closed as are many of the adjacent side streets to set up vendor and food tents. In addition, there is a huge parade that takes place the first day of the festival as well as tons of kid's activities. We were excited to take part in our first Salmon Days as official Issaquah residents! We went down for the parade and did some of the kids activities, but barely brushed the surface before Natalie was in desperate need of nap so we decided to venture back on Sunday as well. The kids had a blast! There was so much to see. We loved watching their reactions to the odd people, fun activities and music. We definitely will have a better plan in action next year now that we know what to expect.
My little dancing fools at Salmon Days.
We were so unprepared on how massive this event is. I read in the paper that they expected nearly 200,000 people for the two day event.
