Mother's Day Hike

We went on a beautiful Mother's Day hike on Sunday.  I found a short, 2.5 mile hike that ended at a waterfall that I thought would be perfect for the kids.  It wasn't too far, and there was a cool destination to reach.

There was lots of whining up the hills on the way there.  They were steep, but definitely didn't warrant THAT much whining.  They made it, though.  I was especially proud of Kendall who really doesn't like to hike all that much.

She was the one who spotted the deer, which was really cute.  "He's looking at me", she said.  Sure enough, he was!  She was also really into the snails and slugs we saw along the way.

Such a fun way to spend Mother's Day!  It's so peaceful to be out in the wilderness, even with all the whining coming from our little entourage.
