Pedicures

Kendall loves to have her toenails painted.  While she waits for the polish to dry, she sits so still reading her books or magazines.  I love the patience this girl has.

Boat Ride

Natalie:  "I'm going in the boat to Aubrey's house.  It take me a few weeks."

I think she has plenty of blankets and books packed along for her big adventure!

Salmon Days 2013

The city of Issaquah has been promoting Salmon Days for months now.  We knew there was a parade and a festival, but that's about all we knew.  As it turns out, it's a huge deal.  The main road through quaint little downtown Issaquah is closed as are many of the adjacent side streets to set up vendor and food tents.  In addition, there is a huge parade that takes place the first day of the festival as well as tons of kid's activities.  We were excited to take part in our first Salmon Days as official Issaquah residents!  We went down for the parade and did some of the kids activities, but barely brushed the surface before Natalie was in desperate need of nap so we decided to venture back on Sunday as well.  The kids had a blast!  There was so much to see.  We loved watching their reactions to the odd people, fun activities and music.  We definitely will have a better plan in action next year now that we know what to expect.

My little dancing fools at Salmon Days.

We were so unprepared on how massive this event is.  I read in the paper that they expected nearly 200,000 people for the two day event.

It was a beautiful fall day!

Little Miss Long Legs

Natalie is growing so fast.  Her legs now reach the back of the seat in front of her in the car.  I look at her some days and wonder how she got so big so fast.

It's the little things that keep them busy and entertained for hours.

First Fire

These crisp fall days had us craving a cozier house, so we decided to stoke up our first fire in our new digs.  After nearly 9 months in, I think it was due time.  We all enjoyed the ambiance of the crackling fire, and the extra heat.

Natalie insisted that Baby Happy liked the warm fire just as much as she did.  They both became so mesmerized by the flickering flames.

One thing I hate about two year olds is their adamant "I do it myself" attitude.  It's so frustrating!  But, one thing I love about two year olds is that when they do it themselves you always end up with such hilarious outcomes.  I completely love how Natalie can never get her little tutu over her butt, and so every time she wears these pj's her little bum looks like this!  It makes me crack up every time.

Sunday Hikes

Now that David is off on Sundays we've been trying to get out for family hikes.  They kids love hitting the trails.  Last week was so wet and windy so we weren't able to get out as much as we wanted so took advantage when it wasn't raining Sunday morning.  The last time we went on this trail it was summer, and there was very little water.  It was so cool to see how different it was with the presence of water.  It was beautiful both times, but pretty cool to see so many waterfalls this time around.

Hike:  Whittaker Trail on Cougar Mountain.
