A couple of pileated woodpeckers have been frequent visitors to the trees in the back yard. We've been enjoying their visits and stop whatever we're doing to watch them eat bugs.

Full Circle Moment
The staff at Rotary First Harvest volunteers at the Cherry Street Food Bank in Seattle once a month. Today we were handing out these beautiful apples. They just happened to be the same apples I arranged to get to the food bank last week. So cool to see my work helping those in need first hand.

Pictures at the Park
We had family pictures taken today at the coolest park on Mercer Island. The kids were much more interested in playing than posing for pictures!
Sunday Funday Bike Ride
We ventured out on our first bike ride of the year today (so sad). It felt good to finally have time to get out and ride together. Auntie Mel met up with us on the trail and kept pace with Ryan (whew!). It was nice for me to take a more leisurely pace with the extra 40 pounds on my bike.
Our goal was to have Natalie tag behind David and Kendall pedal her own bike (because she can!). Neither liked that plan so much, so we stuck with the same set up as last year. It works for now, and gives me an extra good workout - especially going uphill.

Best $3 Ever Spent
The girls and I dropped Ryan off at a friend's house yesterday then headed into town to run a few errands. I spied a garage sale sign, so decided to drop in.
The girls found some fun treasures that added up to $1, then we headed on our way.
We left behind this Cinderella castle. I really did not want the monstrosity in my house, and the girls really didn't put up too much of a fight so away we went! When we got back to the car Natalie gave me the most pathetic, "I really wanted that castle". Her lower lip was up and all. It was very sweet, so I told her if she was good on our errand trip we would stop back.
Thankfully she was good and it was still there when we stopped back, so I paid the $3 to bring it home. $3! Such a steal.
After giving it a nice bath, I realized it was the best $3 I've ever spent. The girls entertained themselves all afternoon with it.
Lazy Saturday
David and Ryan headed off to the Punt, Pass and Kick fundraiser this morning while the girls and I had a lazy morning at home. We all LOVED it! It's been a long time since we've been able to just chill at home.
We read books.
We baked cookies.
We just enjoyed being home!
