The Cabernet Classic

On October 20th Rotary First Harvest held the 3rd Annual Cabernet Classic.  It is a wine tasting benefiting RFH.  Our goal this year was to raise $20,000.  We didn't quite hit that number, but we were close.

The event includes tastings from 40 Washington and California Cabernets or Cab Blends, food and live jazz music.  It really is a great time!

Unless you have to work at it, of course.  I felt I was spinning the entire night, but did get to take a little time off to taste a few wines with David.

Every year, I'm in charge of assembling a team of volunteers to work the Wine Store.  David and our friends Shari and Jana helped me out again for the second year in a row.  Another friend Kristin also helped.  They were an amazing team, and I didn't have to worry about a thing at the Wine Store.

Thanks, Team!

Daddy's Girl

This girl loves her Daddy.

Here is a little clip of their favorite activity - rough housing!

Hands

I wonder what these little hands will do when they are a little bigger?

Happy Birthday, Gabe!

Our nephew Gabe turned 3 on October 15th.  The kids couldn't understand why we couldn't go to his birthday party (in Minnesota), so we decided to sing to him from Seattle.  We love you, Gabriel Vincent!

If you listen really closely at the end you will hear Natalie say, "Happy Birthday Gabe!"  She repeats so many words, it's ridiculous!

A New Way To Bathe

Natalie decided to climb in the tub - fully clothed.  Oh, this girl...

Drawing

Ryan created this drawing for Miss Hanni, our nanny, the other day.  It's Miss Hanni picking him up from the bus stop with Kendall and Natalie.

It the is the first drawing of his that I've ever seen so much detail - the bus, our blue stroller, Kendall and Natalie.

Love it!

The Farm

The kids were so eager to go to the pumpkin patch and pick out their pumpkins.  It's one of our favorite adventures of the year.  Wandering through a pumpkin patch in the crisp, cool fall air is awesome.  This year was no exception, especially for Natalie who was thrilled to be let loose.  We visited The Farm in Snohomish, which is were we usually end up each fall.

The kids had a great time picking out their pumpkin.  Ryan found the perfect one to carve his spooky pumpkin.  And Kendall was super excited to pick out a "Spookley" pumpkin.  (If you haven't read this book, you should.  It's a great Halloween story.)  Square pumpkins were pretty hard to come by in this patch, but she knew right when she found HER pumpkin.  Natalie tried to pick up every pumpkin she came across, and we decided to get her the one she could actually pick up!

After the perfect pumpkins were selected, we went to visit the animals.  There were baby kittens that Ryan and Kendall got to hold.  So fun!  Kendall decided that her kitten should be named "Little Fella".  I love that!   Kendall didn't think the stinky animals were too great, though!  She has the most sensitive nose of anyone I know.
