Ryan and I play catch at the bus stop a lot, and I can not seem to get myself to throw a perfect spiral. He's a natural and has it down every time. He keeps teaching me how to do it, but I'm not a very good student, I guess.
Until this morning, that is. I came out blazing - I threw a perfect spiral every time.
The key: my gloves. Who knew?!

Lego Fest
Over winter break we went a little bananas with the Legos. We challenged ourselves to use all the Legos to create whatever we wanted. The kids and I came up with all these super fun creations using our imaginations - no Lego instructions allowed.
It was really fun, and I became a bit obsessed with it. David was starting to get concerned with the number of hours I was sitting on the floor "playing with Legos" after the kids went to bed.

Back At It
The kids started swimming lessons again this week. I knew trying to fit it in this fall with Ryan's crazy football schedule, and Kendall getting acclimated to kindergarten was not a good idea so we put it off until winter session.
It was also a good time to get Natalie started with lessons. I was so happy we waited a little longer to start her than we did Kendall and Ryan. She gained so much confidence in the water over the summer, that we avoided paying the high fees for lessons just to get her used to putting her face in. Thumbs up.
The only time slot they had available for Kendall and Natalie was at the same time. I was happy to make only one trip and sit through one lesson, but wasn't sure how it would go. Turns out, it works just fine. They had fun swimming with each other and both did an awesome job listening to their teacher and following directions.
Kendall is a natural, and Natalie is Natalie....a little erratic, but she's having a great time.
Ryan swims an hour before them in a non-competitive swim class where they basically swim laps to refine their strokes. He's really enjoying it, too, although I have no pictures to prove it.

Roller Blades
Cutest little roller blader I ever did see.
Kendall was so excited to get Frozen roller blades / ice skates from Santa only to discover they didn't fit. Epic Santa fail, but her mom and dad saved the day and found her a pair that did fit, and a pair of ice skates, too. She was thrilled, thank goodness.
She quickly learned that roller blading is a hard skill to learn, but with persistence she was moving around the cul de sac on her own in no time. She is one balanced girl! It's so fun to watch her determination.

We hadn't seen Miss Hanni is so long, and we were al thrilled she was able to come visit us today! It was so good to see her.
New Year's Day Sledding Adventure
This year's New Year's Day adventure took us up to the mountains. The kids were so excited to go sledding, so that's what we did!
They had a blast, and there was so much snow. Natalie had fun sitting in a bunker filling up a little cave with snow balls. Ryan has always loved sledding so it was no surprise he had a great time. Kendall was the one who surprised us the most. She had so much fun, and we loved watching her have so much fun. She had a permanent smile on her face and wanted to try every hill.
