Kendall at 3
This girl is so sweet and silly it hurts. I love that we get to spend our days her. She is pure joy.
She is so loveable and expressive and fun. She says the cutest things like, "What in the wowld (world)?" and "Awe (are) you kidding me?".
She loves her stuffed animals, and treats them like her babies.
She's so independent. It's hard to believe she's only been potty trained since July. She just goes when she has to and that's that. It's amazing how low maintenance she is. She dresses herself and puts on her own shoes (usually the wrong feet).
She's active, but not wild like her brother. She loves to do whatever Ryan his doing, which is likely why she is so agile and sure on her feet. She loves to keep up with him, but is also starting to express her independence with him. She's learned how to tease him and push his buttons, which is really hysterical. He gets so mad and refuses to play with her, again I find this hysterical. I love that they love to play with each other (most of the time), and are so imaginative together.
Kendall got a new bike for her birthday, and learned to peddle it in days. She could not have been more proud of herself (so cute!). She thinks it's pretty awesome that she can ride with Ryan now.
She loves to read books. She does not like books read to her. She likes to read them herself. And she loves to sing. Her singing voice is so, so sweet.
She thinks it's pretty cool that she has her own school to go to, and is making her own friends. And I love that I get to go with her every Thursday and watch her make new friends.
We love you, Kendall Jo!
Spiders
We've been having fun watching spiders in our yard. There is a ridiculous amount this year.
The kids love when David feeds them bugs and they can watch the spider wrap up his dinner. Gross.
This cool web was outside our door the other morning. I think it's a sure sign fall is definitely here!

Happy Hour for Good
I usually keep this blog about our family happenings, but wanted to share the fun event I planned for my Rotary Club and Rotary First Harvest (RFH), the organization I work for.
The Rotary Club of Lake Union (my club) holds a Happy Hour for Good the third Thursday of every month. I signed on to host the September Happy Hour, despite the fact that it landed on Kendall's birthday. The idea behind the Happy Hour is to engage more people in Rotary, and support a local non-profit. Since I was hosting I got to pick the beneficiary; of course picked RFH.
It turned out to be a beautiful evening at the Center for Wooden Boats listening to live Jazz music while sipping our RFH label wine and nibbling on delicious food. After a bit of stressing on my part (surprise, surprise) about the food and a few other details, the evening went off flawlessly. We made about $900 to benefit RFH!
A big thanks to Grandma Karen who came to watch the kids so David could be there to support me. And mostly for spending the evening with the birthday girl so I didn't feel so guilty about leaving her.

Kendall's Preschool
Kendall's friend Clara's birthday is on September 19 so she got to wear her crown, too. What a cute pair!

Tomatoes!
As many of you know, David is obsessed with his tomatoes. He loves growing them and then making things out of them. This is what they look like today:
They have gone crazy in this late September sunshine!
In addition to what you see in this photo, he already has about 25 pounds picked and ready to make into salsa and marinara. All I can say is YUM! I will continue to support his obsession!

Girls in the Tub
It's very rare I get the girls in the tub without their big brother. If Kendall's getting in the tub Ryan always wants to join her so they can be silly and play and have fun and splash water EVERYWHERE. I can not lie. I enjoyed every minute of watching the girls take a "calm" bath together. Surprisingly there was no water on the bathroom floor when they were done. Hmmm...
I hate when cute photos turn out blurry.
Sisterly LOVE!
Silliness.
Duck on the shoulder.

The great escape. Yep, she's part monkey.
Love this sweet girl so much.

Growing up
Our baby is growing up. She has officially outgrown all 3 of these adorable pairs of shoes. It made me a little teary to have to tuck them away.
Natalie loved all of them so much. She would run to get them when she heard us mention the word "outside". Then would run over to us with them saying, "Shoosh, shoosh".
It makes me sad that she'll never wear them again.
