Flu Friday

The flu has been rolling through the house like tumbleweeds. Ryan had it last week, then it hit Kendall and David on Wednesday, and me yesterday and today. We're all on the upswing, thank goodness.  And keeping our fingers crossed that Natalie doesn't get it, or my parents who arrived from Maui last night.

This morning Kendall said, "Mommy, why are you still in bed". I told her I still didn't feel well. She replied, "Maybe you got sick when you were taking care of me?".

Maybe.

Weekend Hiking

We took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather (we're talking 50 and sunny, people!) and spent a good part of the weekend hiking the local trails.

We found a new to us trail nearby, and discovered the trail just down the road reopened after a root rot closure. The kids were stellar hikers as usual.

Natalie threw me for a loop when she announced she had to pee, and started stripping down right on the trail. What? I suggested she just pee in her pull-up since that is what she prefers when we are at home. But, no, she wasn't doing that. While it was a proud mama moment - maybe this potty training is finally sinking in - teaching a two year old to squat in the woods wasn't in my parenting repertoire. It is now! She peed in the woods like a champ!

All that peeing wore her out!

Blue Friday

Seahawks Mania has taken off in SODO, where my office is.  I love doing my daily walk to the post office and seeing signs from the 12th Man everywhere!  Go Hawks!

Chillin'

I had the pleasure of being the Sibling Mom at Kendall's Co-op on Tuesday.  That means I got to watch the sibling's of Kendall's classmates while their parent worked in the classroom.  It varies how many kids I have on any given day.  On Tuesday I had Natalie and two other 2 year old girls.  This was my lightest load to date.  But you might think it was crazy with three 2-year old girls in one room, but it was SO mellow.  I should have brought a book.  The girls entertained themselves, each doing their own thing.

It was a beautiful day so we ventured outside to the playground before the big kid's had outside time.  The three amigos were hilarious.  They followed each other around and laughed and giggled the entire time.  It was really fun to watch them all interact.  Natalie was the leader of the group being Miss Bossy Tossy, but being 2, the other girls didn't seem to mind.  Then she decided to just chill at the top of the slide.  After she went down the other two did the same thing.

I so loved observing!  It always gets me wondering what they will be like as they get older.

Super Bowl Bound

Excitement doesn't begin to describe Sunday night at Centurylink Field.  The energy that filled the stadium was palpitating.  We loved every minute of being crazy with the rest of the 12th Man, and cheering our Seahawks on to an NFC Championship!

A big thank you to Bill for taking us along for the ride!

Bill and Doug were SOOO excited about Macklemore and Ryan Lewis being the Halftime Show.  Ok.  Maybe not.  But I was!

Go Hawks!

Happy Friday!

David and I hiked to the top of Poo Poo Point (near our house) yesterday.  It was sunny and absolutely gorgeous when we reached the top.

Happy Birthday David!

Today is my guy's birthday.  I feel so extremely blessed everyday to have David in my life.  He's an amazing husband, and an extraordinary father to our kids.  I know they completely adore him right now, but I hope they will realize one day how truly lucky they are to have such an awesome dad.

Some oldies, but goodies of our favorite guy:
