Ryan has been obsessed with bandaids the last few weeks. He runs to get a bandaid after every little bump. It doesn't matter if he's bleeding or not. It's so annoying. David and I are sick of picking up the bandaid wrappers he leaves behind.
So, when he had yet another bandaid on his hand the other day I didn't think I thing of it. At bath time that same night he went crazy when his bandaid came off in the tub. I tried to explain that bandaids don't stay on in bath water, but there was no listening to mom. Then I noticed there was something black on his hand. After further inspection, I realized it was a sliver. A big sliver.
Trying to convince him to let me take it out opened one big can of DRAMA. Ryan went nuts. I calmly explained that I needed to get it out, and that it may hurt just a little but it would be out before he knew it. I bribed him with ice cream, but he was having nothing to do with bribes. He just cried hysterically.
After 30 minutes of tears and endless screaming I decided I was just going to get it out. I pinned him down with my leg, and had the sliver out in less than 20 seconds. And then we put a new bandaid on and life was good.

Kendall @ 18 months
Kendall is officially 1 1/2! She is a joy (minus the not sleeping)! Her personality is just coming alive and we are enjoying watching every minute of it. She's still a little peanut weighing in at 20 pounds, 15 ounces - only a 3 ounce weight gain from her December appointment. But she did grow 3 inches.
She has started to noticeably babble more over the last few weeks. She'll just chatter or sing as she's entertaining herself. It really is adorable. David's been working with her on her animal sounds, and she's got quite a few down - cow, horse, cat, dog, gecko, elephant, wolf and she makes this cute little pig face when you ask her what a pig says:

Books, blankies, nuks and stuffed animals are her favorite things at the moment. She's started pushing her baby stroller around the house filled with stuffed animals. Again, so fun to watch! Keeping up with her big brother is another favorite past time. She loves to be doing whatever he is doing, which creates lots of drama in the house. Some days Ryan is all up for playing with her, but most days he doesn't want her touching HIS toys. Their favorite game is running from the living room to the kitchen while I'm making dinner. Kendall's goal is to get to my legs before Ryan gets her.
Kendall still throws some of the best tantrums. I'm not sure she'll ever out-do Ryan, but she's getting there! She flops on her belly and just wails - we laugh! It is ooooh so dramatic!!
One thing we have noticed she has already surpassed Ryan on is her listening skills. If we ask her to do anything she actually does it! It's amazing how well she follows directions. I'm sure it won't stick around long, but we'll certainly enjoy it while we can.
I sometimes wish we could just bottle this stage up and keep it forever. It is so fun to watch her grow and develop into a little girl...and it's happening way too fast!

Party of Five
As many of you know, we're expecting a baby girl mid June. So far, this pregnancy has been very similar to the last two. Down to the pound. When I was at my check-up last month my doctor laughed at me because I was concerned about the amount of weight I had gained. She said that I've gained the exact amount of weight as the last two pregnancies. Apparently, it's what my body needs to do so I'll just go with it.
For those of you who don't believe me when I say my belly is HUGE, Ryan snapped a photo for proof. He doesn't always get the best angles so it may look a little bigger than it actually is. It's a little scary that I have 3 months to go. The baby has lots more growing to do!
I love feeling her kicks get stronger every day. David felt her move for the first time the other day, and I'm waiting for Ryan to get his chance. His patience are pretty non-existent when it comes to waiting on her make her move, though. He does ask daily how big she is, and holds out his hands "this big?". It's like a little fish tale. Some days she gets bigger by the second!
We're heading into the third trimester already, so it won't be long before she's here. Kendall doesn't have a clue what's going on, but I do think she'll be happy when we move her out of her crib in the next few months. She will think she is pretty cool to be in a big bed like Ryan!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Those silly little Leprechaun's left quite a mess in our house this morning! Good thing they left a few treats behind, too.

Goodbye, Kauai...
We had an amazing time on our vacation. It was great to spend the mornings walking or at the beach, the afternoons by the pool and the rest of the day doing whatever we wanted.
The kids had so much fun, and we all enjoyed watching them!
Our last evening we walked down to the beach to watch the sunset. Poipu Beach is one of the best places to watch the sunset, and we were treated to a spectacular one. One of the best we've ever seen. Pictures will never do it justice, but I snapped a few anyway!
Aloha, Kauai!

And here are a few of my other favorite pictures from the vacation.

Water, Water, Everywhere
As I've mentioned Ryan loved playing in the pool and Kendall loved the beach. Here is a video of Ryan swimming in the pool. For some reason the video of Kendall (which is adorable) won't upload. I'll keep working on it.
Four!
The boys went golfing on the last day in Kauai. This was Ryan's first time golfing. From the reports I got he had a great time! I'm not sure if the other guys got their best game in, though.
