First M's Game

My Favorite Trio at the Game

Last week we attended our first M's game of the season, and it just happened to be Kendall's first M's game too.  Ryan was so excited...mostly to see the Mariner Moose but once he settled in he really enjoyed the game.  Kendall was so good, but she was so tired.  Next time, I think we'll leave her home so she can just sleep.

Ryan's "excited" look before seeing the Moose!

We had a great time, and are looking forward to going again in a few weeks when Grandma Sue and Grandpa Ken are here!  Ryan is once again excited to see the Mariner Moose, and he's going to see if he can come over to play at his house.  Oh, that boy is full of ideas!

Kendall @ 7 months

Sweet Baby Kendall keeps growing way too fast. It seems like she has a new trick every time I turn around. Last week when I turned around she had moved in a completely different direction on the floor. Usually when I lay her down she flips to her tummy, and plays with her toys. Not any more. Now, she can scoot to whatever she wants to get her hands on. And this week when I turned around she's up on her hands and knees rocking back and forth! Great. Time to baby proof. We're going to have a mobile baby before we know it. I really don't think I'm ready for this!!

It really is so much fun to watch her figure things out, though. She's so very proud of herself. It is beyond adorable!

She still hasn't gotten any teeth. They have to be coming, because there is drool everywhere, but still nothing. She hasn't been sleeping the greatest either, so we think that is another sign...but who knows. She wakes up so happy, though, and I guess that's all that matters.

We are so in love with her. She is just so happy and smiley all the time. She brings so much joy to every day.

Brithday at the Beach

My Mom and sister Jenny flew out to Seattle on Thursday to spend my birthday weekend with me. Ryan spent the weekend with Grandma Karen and Grandpa Bill, while us girls went to the beach house. It was an awesome girls weekend! Kendall was spoiled with attention, Jen and I did some scrapbooking, we had great weather, and we enjoyed good food and wine! It couldn't have been better.

It happened to be a clamming weekend, so we got a little clamming education from some locals. Teacher Mom had to see how it was done! We debated if we would try it ourselves, but decided not to. Maybe next time when David is there to show us how it's done. I've done it before, but it's been a long time.

It was such a great weekend! Thanks for making the trip Mom and Jen!

The Purple Popsicle

Ryan woke up in the middle of the night two nights in a row after having nightmares. But one was not your typical nightmare. It was about a purple popsicle. He cried hysterically for about 10 minutes because he wanted a purple popsicle. It was the most bizarre thing. David and I were dumbfounded. I guess we can be thankful that the popsicle wasn't chasing him! I would love to know how those little minds work.

Happy Easter!

Okay. I realize this is a few weeks late, but that seems to be the way things have been going lately. Too many things going on to remember to blog!

We had a wonderful Easter celebration at our house on Friday. We hosted a dinner party for Uncle Michael, Jenn, Grandma and Grandpa Boehm and Jenn's parents. It was such a fun day. David made us a delicious dinner (as usual), and we so enjoyed meeting Jenn's parents for the first time. It is very clear why Jenn is a special as she is! We can't wait for her to be a Boehm!!

Grandma Karen brought up Easter eggs for an egg hunt for Ryan. The guys hid the eggs while Ryan was napping. It took him awhile to get into it after he woke up, but seemed to enjoy himself by the end. It was super windy and cool, and he couldn't find them fast enough for us. The guys got a kick out of all the big boy underwear stuffed in the eggs...as you can see!

We had a pretty low-key Easter Sunday. It was just the four of us. We went to church, and just hung out at home. Ryan was thrilled that the Easter bunny brought him a baseball mitt...for a lefty (smart Easter Bunny) and a new baseball bat. Kendall enjoyed her first Easter with a smile.

Oh, The Things That He Says...Part I (because I know there will be more!)

I decided that it is time to start recording some of the crazy things that come out of Ryan's mouth. They are becoming more ridiculous, and we find ourselves giving each other that "are you kidding me" look multiple times a day, and I don't want to forget...because I know I will if I don't write it down.

Today alone there were at least 6 things he said that made me laugh...some I should not laugh at (but I do). And I was at work all day, and spent 3 hours with him before he went to bed (David did fill me in on a few). That's not a lot of time. I guess that goes to show that he talks non-stop. It's amazing the vocabulary this kid has. When did that happen?

So here goes...

1. There is a lot of random singing that goes on at our house. David and I seem to turn just about everything into a silly rhyming song, which apparently Ryan has picked up on. While eating his lunch today he started singing to Kendall. His little song went like this, "Ken-dall, Wen-dall, Ken-dall, Wen-dall, Ken-dall, Wen-dall You are a stinky poo"!

2. As we were walking around the block he starts chatting to us and it was "hey, guys" this, "hey, guys" that...so funny!

3. In church on Sunday, he asked David (and not quietly), "Hey Daddy, where's God?".

4. As he was throwing a tantrum (once again) about who knows what, I told him he needed to stop crying. His response, "I don't want to stop crying"....Obviously!

5. On the way to the bath..."Mommy, I have to go pee...and not in the tub, right?" RIGHT! "Daddy (who is sitting on top of the toilet giving Kendall a bath), can you get off so I go on the potty. Thank you, Daddy. I just have to pee this time, Daddy." Seriously, kid. And he hardly took a breath between each sentence. Just constant, non-stop chatter!

6. In the tub using his imagination...."I'm making cupcakes, Mom. We need brown sugar, and white sugar, and white sugar and blue sugar and we need another scoop, okay?".

Oh, man, he cracks me up!

Kendall @ 6 months

It's so hard to believe that sweet baby K is already 1/2 a year old. How do the months pass so quickly with a baby in the house? Well, I guess I know the answer to that, because I can barely keep track of the days (let alone months), but it really does seem to pass so much quicker than it should.

Kendall continues to be so sweet. Her sleep patterns have taken a turn for the worse, which makes David and I a little less sweet! Even when she puts in an awful night, she still wakes up happy!

She's our little non-breakfast eater...just like her Daddy. It's so funny. She'll be up for 2 hours before she's hungry. She wants nothing to do with her bottle in the morning. She's eating cereal and vegetables now. It took her awhile to get used to eating solids, but loves them now!

She's so predictable, which is great! Ryan was never (still isn't) like that! I would label him "unpredictable". We're never quite sure what we'll get from him, but Kendall is quite the opposite. She naps the same time every day, eats about the same time every day, goes to bed the same time at night...it makes it pretty easy to take care of her.

I would have to say her favorite thing is her bath. She LOVES bath times and melts my heart to see her face light up when she hears the water running!

She's sitting up like a big girl! She rarely falls over now, and even tries to pull herself to sitting. It will be awhile before she's there, but she's trying!

I do love to watch her watch Ryan. She just adores him, and I love that he is getting it now. He has starting talking to her, teaching her things and just playing with her! It's so fun!! Last night he was trying to teach her to drink from her new sippy cup. So cute! He does sometimes get jealous of her, and shows that easily. It's never anything too mean, but the screaming in her face about does me in! I think they'll be good buddies before long, though.
