Happy Halloween!

Ryan is going to be an elephant for Halloween. He LOVES his costume, and would wear it all day if we'd let him. He is so proud when he has it on and checks himself out in the mirror constantly....too cute!

Weekend in Minnesota

We just spent a long weekend in Minnesota, and had the best time. David went north to play with the guys...pulling beaver dams, fishing and walking in the woods. Ryan and Katy stayed in Minneapolis and played with the girls....shopping, "Little House on the Prairie" at the Guthrie and sipping wine. We all met up on Saturday and went to the Gopher football game. The Gophers pulled out a great victory against Indiana. The little boys had us cheering all the way to the Dome! There are no bigger Gopher fans than Jack, Gunnar and Luke! Ryan showed his true Washington Husky colors by asking for "bed" the entire first half. David took him back to the hotel for a nap at half-time. After the game we celebrated Grace's 2nd birthday at the hotel. We all had a great time hanging out at the pool and passing baby Jillian around...when Luke would share! It was a wonderful trip and we can't wait until we see everyone again!

Here Kitty, Kitty...

Ryan has become obsessed with the cats over the past couple weeks. Kona actually let him sit by her the other day. He usually chases them until they start hissing at him. We're trying to get him to sit down and call them, but he's having a hard time understanding that concept. He really is gentle with them when he wants to be.

Carkeek Park

Ryan and I spent the afternoon at Carkeek Park in Seattle. The weather and the scenery were both amazing!! Ryan spent an hour throwing rocks. I wonder if his arm will be sore tomorrow? He would do it all day if I let him. He gets so focused. After watching him today, I definitely think he is going to be a lefty. He uses both, but definitely favors his left and has much better aim with his left.

Outdoor fun!

The weather has been gorgeous in Seattle this week, so we've been spending lots of time outside. Ryan and I were playing peek a boo through the shrubs last night. I thought the video was so funny - he looks like a little animal (which he is) pouncing through the bushes! He threw the wildest tantrum when we came inside for the evening. The neighbors were probably wondering what was going on. He was kicking the door and screaming at the top of his lungs. It went on for 10 minutes. I just left the room and let him work it out...and he finally did. I had a hard time not laughing - he can be so dramatic!!

Thank You!

Ryan finally started saying "thank you" today. He used to sign it, but never used his manners unless I told him to. I guess all my nagging finally paid off. I was doing yard work and he was searching for rocks. He'd ask for "more rocks", and when I gave him some he'd say, "thank you, Mom". The way it comes out is so cute! Music to my ears!!
