Natalie and I joined my co-worker, Benjamin, at the Food Bank Farm in Snohomish to glean corn for the food banks. The event was set up as part of National Day of Service which is on 9/11 each year.
It felt so good to be out in the fields on such a beautiful day giving back to the community.
The pigs and the cows were the highlight! Natalie loved watching the pigs eat the corn her and Benjamin threw to them.

Sister Time
My sister Jen flew in to Seattle today. She had a long layover on her way to Sitka for the weekend. She took the train in from the airport and met me at work. We ventured out into the city to grab lunch and wander the market. It was so great to catch up without being swarmed by 6 kids!

The 1st Football Game
Ryan's first football game was against Mt Si Red. They were a tough team and our Liberty Rookies lost 24-0. But it was sure fun to see our boys out there playing hard! It will be a fun ride watching them get better and better each week. Go Liberty!

Kendall's First Day of Kindergarten
It was a big day! Kendall had been waiting for this day to arrive all summer. She said she was feeling a little nervous, but mostly excited. She is so ready for this next adventure, and I'm so excited to watch her grow this year.
She landed the most magnificent kindergarten teacher around, Mrs. Kardong. Ryan had Mrs. Kardong as well, so we kept our fingers crossed Kendall would get her too. She really is magical.
We're bracing for a rough September as we get into this new routine, but we know Kendall will have a fantastic year.
Kendall was so excited to run to the bus stop with her brother.
She is so ready!
Mrs. Kardong gave Kendall some jewels when they met yesterday, and all the kids were so excited about them. Kendall decided to share a few with Ryan and Natalie.
She is growing up so fast.
After we got the big kids on the bus, Natalie and I went to school to greet Kendall as she got off the bus. I'm so glad we did. All the kindergartners were a bit overwhelmed, so we helped her (and a few friends) find their classroom and get settled.
Kendall made a picture for Mrs. Kardong and presented it to her right away. It was so sweet.
She is so excited to have a seat right next to her friend Levi!
I held back tears as we left, mostly because I know she's so ready and is going to rock kindergarten!

Kendall and Dad Day
The kindergartners don't start until tomorrow, so David and Kendall had a Dad / Daughter day. They loved it! They even went out for lunch!
