G & G Hike

When my parents were here we ventured out on a hike.  The fresh air and exercise is always good for the soul.

Games with Grandma

No one is better at monopolizing time with Grandma Sue than Kendall.  She is constantly nagging her to play this game, color that picture, and on and on.  Grandma Sue always obliges.  They have so much fun together!

The Sewing Corner

For quite a few days in a row I'd find myself wondering where Kendall was.  And every time I looked for her I would find her sitting in the corner sewing on the sewing cards she'd recently re-discovered.  She had a little "sewing corner" set up and would sit there for a very long time quietly sewing away.

68 and 46

Today, my parents celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary!  How awesome that we got to celebrate with them.  Their love is a constant inspiration to us.

David whipped up another delicious dinner, and my mom and I tried a new flourless cake recipe.  Yum!  We took the opportunity to sing Grandpa Ken "Happy Birthday" which was a few days prior.  The kids loved that!

Happy 46th Anniversary Mom and Dad!

We love you so much!

Giggles with Grandpa

Grandpa Ken and Grandpa Sue arrived today to spend a few days with us before heading out for their annual trip to Maui (lucky ducks!).

We love the time we get to spend on them.  It didn't take Natalie and Grandpa Ken to get reacquainted!  Lots of giggles from tickles!

The Hatchery & Snoqualmie Falls

We kicked off the first weekend of the new year by going on an adventure.  We went to the salmon hatchery in North Bend, then made our way over to Snoqualmie Falls.  We hadn't been up here in awhile, like since the kids were born, so it was fun to revisit such a beautiful area.  We also loved hearing David's stories of when he used to fish the river, and did research at the hatchery.  He took us on a little tour of the hatchery.  We even spotted a huge steelhead salmon!

I spy....a steelhead salmon.

The kids had fun roaming the trails at the falls, and the waterfall itself it quite spectacular.  Days after we visited, the waterfall tripled in size with all the rain that fell.  We couldn't believe how different it looked.  It was a great adventure to kick of the new year!

This is the sign that it's time for lunch!

Happy New Year!

We kicked off the new year by hitting the trails.  It was our best family hike thus far - very little whining, and Natalie decided she could hike too.  I hope this is a sign of many more great hikes in the new year.  Happy 2015!
