First M's Game of the Season

Watching the trains

We've been trying to get to a Mariner's game all season, but have just had too much going on. We finally made it last night and saw a great game. Ryan was so good, and had so much fun. He got to see the Mariner Moose more than once. He sleeps with a stuffed Mariner Moose every night, so this was really a thrill for him! He wasn't too sure what to think of him, though. He just stood there and watched him curiously. He sat really nice and watched the game with us, and made it to the 6th inning. He's such a fun kid to take places! He's always got cute comments and reactions to things...like dancing to the music and clapping along with the crowd!

Cousins

Grace, Ryan, Jack and Luke

Gracie and Ryan

Jen and the kids stopped to see us this week on their way home to Minnesota. The kids had such a great time playing together. It was a fight over who got to sit by Ryan at the table at every meal. Who knew he was such a hot commodity! He was pretty sad when they had to go to the airport on Wednesday. Good thing his Daddy was here to keep him busy.

Carkeek with Kassi

Ryan and I spent Sunday morning with our friend Kassi at Carkeek Park. We usually go to throw rocks, but Ryan got brave and actually went in the cold water. He begged Kassi to chase waves with him, and she was a great sport. He was soaked, but had a blast!!

Sprinkler time

Ryan was having the best time in the sprinkler the other day. We couldn't resist getting some photos. His laugh and giggle were priceless!

Corn on the cob!

Ryan had his first taste of fresh corn on the cob the other night. I knew he'd like it, if he'd try it...and I was shocked when he did. He is so skeptical to try anything new. He thought it was pretty fun to eat it off the cob, but didn't like how it got stuck in his teeth.

Beach Week

Ryan building sandcastles.

Ryan and the beach ball.

Beautiful beach sunset.

Ryan, Michael and Jenn flying the Nemo kite.

Ryan flying the kite all by himself!

Running through the pools!

Love birds on the beach.

The 3 Musketeers chasing waves.

Ryan cleaning the crab pots. What a good helper!

We spent last week at the beach house with the Boehm's. Ryan went early with Grandma Karen so had extra fun being spoiled by Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle Michael and Auntie Jenn. David and I joined everyone on Monday.

We had great weather and enjoyed every minute! Ryan became so brave on the beach. He would hardly go near the water the first day and by the end of the stay was jumping waves! He, Unlce Michael and his Daddy had the best time chasing waves! They were quite the trio! They also played a lot of ball in the yard...but only if hats were on backwards. Ryan also flew a kite all by himself. He's getting so big!

The big boys had fun fishing and crabbing. Ryan got to go out in Grandpa Bill's boat for the first time, and even got to drive the boat. He helped pull in crab pots and helped clean up afterward, too!

Us girls and Ryan enjoyed doing nothing while they were away. Ryan and Grandma did some sewing. And Ryan loved building towers with Jenn, and knocking them down.

Other highlights:
Eating lots of fresh crab. Jenn and Michael made us sushi - delicious!
Seeing a whale from the beach!
Playing ball with hats on backwards (or else you couldn't play)
Ryan chasing the beach ball down the beach, then diving on it to stop it. The funniest thing ever!!

"Swimming"

Ryan has been coming up with crazy ideas lately. His imagination is running wild! Tonight he decided he was going to go "swimming". He hasn't wanted to swim all summer, so this took me by surprise.

He wanted me to fill up his blue bucket so he could help water the flowers, then decided it would work better as a swimming pool. He was dunking his head, jumping in (usually unsuccessfully) and even tried to sit on the edge (which ended with him tipping the entire bucket of water on himself)! It was super fun to watch him!!
